Personal Favorite Exponential Expansion Team Schemes

And these are the current favorites out of my many unconventional musings throughout my blog pages.

North Country Baseball for Canada.  Played in Vancouver and Montreal.  40 games each.
West Coast A's.  And this is the Athletics splitting time between Portland and Las Vegas.  I'm not even sure that Oakland should be in the picture.  What about San Jose?  Or even Sacramento?
Florida Marlins, again.   So, no more Rays...in Tampa-St. Pete.
California Angels again, ...here's your share, Sacramento.

Ya' know what, a Southland Band brand could play from Charlotte, thru Nashville to Memphis and New Orleans, if you think about it.

Southlakes Fisherman NHL team in Atlanta
Great Lakes brand hockey in Milwaukee and Cleveland.  Sometimes in Indy and Cinci.
West Coast brand for Seattle, Portland and sometimes Vegas and Anchorage.
East Coast Whalers in Hartford again, and then Hampton Roads.

Norde Force, NFL Canada's team that camps throughout CFL Canada.
Kentucky Downs

Louisville Stallions?
Ohio Flights in Dayton
West Coast Clippers with some time docked in San Diego and Seattle instead of doubled up around Hollywood.

Appalachia United Bootleggers
Some "Divided" logo imagery?
Think of a Teamsters or Local Union Workers emblem.  They look like NASCAR racers alright.
AUB?
Texas Divided in San Marcos, Texas.
Ohio Divided in Cinci or Dayton and either Cleveland or Toledo.
Arizona United in Tucson.
West Coast Diamond Club shared with Vegas instead of just another LA team.

MetroStars was a better name than Red Bulls. Opinion

And certainly more sensible than "just", "New York".
A mannerism like Mango from SNL
One day, the club could be called the Bridgecrossers.

wikipedia.org______New_York_Red_Bulls

See, yes, the New York Red Bulls before bought by Red Bull was less of a bunch of bull, and was a broader name for the blokes and broads of New Jersey, while also playing in the suburbs of New York in New Jersey.  But like all New York footballs.  In New Jersey.

I get it.  In Covington, Kentucky you can see the Reds baseball park and root for the Reds or Bengals across the river as a born and red Kentuckian.

MetroStars.  The New York-New Jersey Metrostars.
Why not Jersey York MetroStars?

Because FC Cincinnati is Toyota and the Crew is Barbasol.

Because because because because.  Becuz!  Because of the wonderful things we does.... .

I have said before, if I was LeeBraun James, I'd be a billionaire  as Lebron Coca-Cola James for play-by-plays calling my full name out each non-number reference.

NBA by 2050

                                           Six More Teams by 2050?
Louisville Stallions
Ohio Heights or Flights housed in Dayton.  Close enough to Cinci and C-bus
Kansas City - St. Louis:  team called Show Me
Las Vegas Aces High
Seattle Sonics reborn
West Coast Clippers play in San Diego sometimes.  Also Honolulu.
North Country Lumberjacks?  The 'Jack to split time in Montreal and Vancouver
Take a mind vacation in Wonderland
Do you really think I missed out on Paris and London?

NHL 2050

36 Teams?  38?

Here's what I would like to see:

Great Lakes Shoremen in Milwaukee and Cleveland
                sometimes in Cincinnati and Indy
Austin Texans
Southlakes Fishermen brand of Atlanta
West Coast Whales in Las Vegas and Portland
sometimes in Anchorage.  Some Honolulu love?
Seattle Shippers.  Or maybe Horsemen or Phantoms
Omaha-Dakota Midlakes (Nebraska-Dakota) Diesel

Or what about the East Coast Whalers in Hartford and Hampton like I've blogged about?
I didn't forget about the Nordiques.  What about the Ontario Golden Horsemen?
These tag teams have been blogged about a little more in depth within the blog.

MLB 2050

Let's say what, 36 teams?

Carolina Truckers
Portland Express
Monterrey Mexican Rays
Montreal Expos

What I'd like:
The Florida Marlins of Miami ....and Tampa.
And the West Coast Athletics of Oakland (or Sacramento) and Las Vegas.  Or Portland.  And have the West Coast Express.  You know, ...something a little more exponential for MLB and America.
Love my multi-nodal idea of the North Country 'Jacks up in Vancouver and Montreal.
That's 35 teams.  What about the 36th?  A team-two for Dallas.  One for Jersey?  Check out some selections in my blog.

Ohio Crew? Cincinnati Crew?

Obligatory semi-relevant pic

Cincinnati Sportstalker Ken Broo mentioned that with financial hardships for many o' MLS franchises, why doesn't some Cinci billionaire buy a franchise and move it to Cinci INSTEAD OF EXPANDING.

FC Cincinnati in such a short period of time has generated so much buzz.

NFL 2050

Maybe some convention along these lines is what you will see:
And some of these come in expansions of twos.  40 NFL teams by 2050?

London Jaguars
Toronto Fleet

Louisville Horsemen
Portland Highwaymen

California Chargers, housed in Sacramento
San Antonio Raiders or Texas Raiders

Las Vegas Daredevils
OKC Oilers

Lingerie Football in the United Kingdom
What I would do in naming if I was glorious Dictator:
West Coast Raiders with Las Vegas in addition to Oakland
California Chargers playing in San Diego and Sacramento
Oregon Express
Oklahoma Oilers
Kentucky Downs
Nord Force of Toronto and all CFL Stadius
UK Knights (London Kingsmen?)

....and what would that leave out?  Birmingham.  Salt Lake City.  NFL in Mexico, Sur Toros.

Look in my blog.  I've written of these guys as prospective franchises....like the Kentucky Downs in Louisville.

So many ways to go counting beyond 38 teams.
It could be the Alabama Elephants coming into the league with the Sur Toros.  It could even be the Utah Express or Omaha Express coming into the league with the Boise Bluelegs.  What will 2050 look like in the NFL?

A Map of Sports Cosmology. Draw one up

Go ahead, create it.  Get it out of your system.

Do this, especially if you're from Montreal, Charlotte, Las Vegas, San Antonio, Austin or Portland.
Envision the Boise Blue Sox.

Dream up your Toronto and Louisville NFL teams.

Go overseas.

Come up with your hometown team expansion.  Be honest with yourself and then say which places will probably get it before your town will.

Take it out as far as you please:

You can or take it out to the Tokyo Dragons or Berlin Bears.  And do it in whatever sport.  Get Indianapolis, Nashville and Charlotte out of your system.  London and Paris basketball.  Our Aussie pals geographically suit for alignment in some kind of an Asian division.
The way I do it is to make regional teams by combining towns.   I expedite the growth. For instance, a North Country Lumberjacks or Nord Force squad for all of Canada can include Vancouver and Montreal in the mix in one fell swoop.  Think of the Sur Toros in Mexico for Monterrey and Mexico City.  Those cities being on different ends of the country can average out where the teams are aligned in the league.

Tennessee brand baseball would put two medium sized MLB stadiums in the state, one in Memphis and one in Nashville.  Portland and Las Vegas could be taken care of in this fashion for a west coast named brand.   A rationale could even be stretched for East Coast International Expos baseball being played in Charlotte and Montreal.  You could lump Puerto Rico in there.  You could scheme up some kind of Midland brand for San Antonio, Austin, OKC, Kansas City and Omaha for all of the big leagues.  I've done it throughout my blog.  If you living in North or South Dakota, creativity could put you in the big leagues,...just do it part-time as a tag-team.

Do you have any dream schemes?

NFL Team for London is Trying Too Hard .... for now anyway

Because

Kentucky Downs

                 Nord Force

Oregon Express

                    Oklahoma Oilers

Those teams being respectively in Louisville, Toronto, Portland and OKC.
I've blabbed about them in my blog before.
A team could be in Canada or Mexico.
Get your head out from up under 'yer...from out under 'er.... uh
Toronto and/or Monterrey.
Just to name a handful.

Nothing to say of central Texas, Las Vegas, Birmingham.  And on and on.

But let London have Jacksonville.

Check out some links:

NFL in Louisville
OKC Oilers NFL Team

Having holes in Portland, Louisville, Birmingham and Toronto gives me the feels for filling in gaps.  Florida has 3 big time teams while Texas does not.  I have this angst expressed throughout the blog.
In all of sports some consolidation can close some of these gaps in a hurry.  2 teams could become four or more towns instead of just two towns.  A Norde Force and North Country team would explode the television and apparel money to new bounds.  Taking the Oakland A's woes and sharing them with Las Vegas as the West Coast brand could do wonders and alleviate of any concerns of hesitation into part-time towns.  Am I crazy or can't this happen for Tampa and Oakland on the diamond?  Tampa should share the Marlins and the A's should be shared between Vegas and Oaktown.  We can fill voids in Austin/San Antonio, Portland and Charlotte quicker using a two town team.

The Big Ones. Or Two or More Sizeable Cities in a State for Sports

To many of you, there is an obviousness in what I'm going to spout about.  The wildcards in it might be San Marcos Texas and Tucson Arizona.

If you like directional order as part of your geographic drift, hold on,
...and I'm sorry, because it's going to be a wild ride:

California has some coastess' with some mostest'.  7 major league towns really from 4 areas.
Florida has more than Miami and Tampa.  4 big league ones to be precise.
Ohio has the 3 C's.
Pencil'vania has 2.
Missouri has two.
Same with Tennessee.
Charlotte has a formidable neighbor now in Raleigh.
Texas touts more than a sizeable 4.
New York has more than one metro over a million and the sports towns to tout in bountiful Buffalo.
Baltimore and D.C. are technicalities bunched together on the Corridor.

Indianapolis is pretty lone.  As is Boston.  As is Chicago.  Though they are near enough to the likes of Providence and Milwaukee, respectively.  Jersey is a devil in it's own right.
Ditto Atlanta on some lonesome.  Seattle is but a drive from a Canadian port metropolis.  Denver.  Minneapolis-St. Paul is sandwiched as one big area.
New Orleans.  Detroit.  The city of Oklahoma.  Salt Lake City.  Portland.  Phoenix.  Tucson has enough size to represent Arizona MLS if you ask me.  This could be argued of the like of Toledo, Dayton and Akron someday.  There is some very reachable proximity to bigger towns for those towns.  I speak fondly of San Marcos in this regards to the weekly venues, the footballs, with concerns for Austin and San Antonio.

Soon enough, there may be some affection to speak of in all of this for Las Vegas and Louisville.

And now for some visual pleasure, after throwing your brain around.

Montreal and Mexico Make Sense for MLB Next

Mexico and Montreal for the next expansion make sense.  More so than Charlotte or Portland maybe?
More Canada and some Mexico exponentially make more sense. Definitely population-wise.

They have the populations.  There are exchange rate concerns.  But television money should be able to smooth over any such doubts and alleviate rate woes for any gate tally that MLB calls for day in and night out.

Big league baseball has been proven in Montreal.  And it is an undeniable love in Latin America.

It is said that the money and business isn't in place in the likes of Puerto Rico or Havana.
I say this:  Imagine a ball park much like the one in Williamsport, Pennsylvania (pictured below).  Imagine something akin to an open-seating outfield.  Or picnic seating.  It doesn't have to be your run-of-the-mill American stadium seating.  It can be its own thing.  Do a lottery-seating section.  Get creative.  Put it in Monterrey.  Do a 35k seater in Monterrey and one down in Mexico City.  Spread the love.

Having the Montreal-Monterrey Int'l Expos is a thought.  I've toyed with such an Expos idea sharing with Las Vegas or the East Coast Expos with Puerto Rico and/or Charlotte.

Charlotte and Portland aren't thought to be ready.  Okay, so let's make the telecast and radio audience exponentially explode in growth.

Some unconventional camping North Country and Sur Toros action is my vote.
Check 'em out below.

Major League Baseball in Vancouver and Montreal. Make it one team. North Country Lumberjacks

Monterrey Rays. Or Sur Toros? MLB in Mexico

Canadian Power. Is that a Good Name for a Toronto NFL Team?

I've also floated the French English name before "Nord Force" (like the Mounties).

At least periodically, Canada's NFL franchise could play in Vancouver, in a suitable BC Place, or any other CFL stadium.  The TV is where the big bucks are.  The seating wouldn't be as big a deal as the ratings of Canadians behind their team.

If it was my vote, I'd be for the next NFL expansion having the Kentucky Downs in Louisville and Canadian Power.  The team of all of Canada could be placed in the west or any north-centric division alignment east to west, coast to coast.  And CFL could co-exist.
