Major League Baseball in Nashville and New Orleans

I have talked before on my blog about a team being shared in the South between Charlotte and Tampa, as well as various other combinations.  I even brought up holding games in Atlanta's second major league stadium while the new one is being built in suburbia Atlanta.  And this could help buy time for stadiums being built elsewhere while ball is still played in Tampa.  MLB seems to be withering away in TB.  Share it.  It's better than vacating altogether, right?

So, let's say the Southern Rays now play in Charlotte and Tampa.
I think they could change their name to the East Coast Rays.........and...
and the Southern Sounds or Southern Sound Dogs could play in Nashville and New Orleans while two top-notch party stadiums of 35,000 seats are being built in those musical cities.  Maybe some Memphis too.

The Soultown Blues?  What do you think?  What would a good name be?

Face it.  As a Nashville or New Orleans guy, you might want it in your town ONLY.  But think with your head, it would never happen that way anytime soon.  You might not be able to do 80 home games and come close to filling the stands.  But maybe 40?
Then maybe you can prove yourself for the next expansions.
