BushLeague Basketball funky fan flex

Laketown Squadron of Greater New Orleans. Rip City Remix of Portlandia. San Diego Clippers for the playback.

Let’s now call the G-league triple-A and the NCAA a well-paid double-A.

Pretty much at the house are Memphis, OKC, SLC and the likes of the Cleveland Charge (close to the vest at the vested). Motor City Cruise is slick.

Oh, but wouldn’t I love to defy the geography sense to have some Cincinnati Celtics…

If I could rub a wish for the Genie, Cincinnati Arena right now

If I could wave my wand and the ladies scream for me as opposed to the police, Cincinnati would have a new arena. I’d probably prefer somewhere in the suburbs. But I asked AI to draw one.

I’d take an NHL team. A triple-A G-League squad would be fun. Cincinnati Canons and Cincinnati Trucking sounds neato speedo.

Map Gaps: The Non Population

There's a barren wall from the stretches of Alabama and Mississippi, through Oklahoma, up to Idaho.  It's a slash through the middle of the country.  The NBA has a flag planted in OK, but not MO with its two pro towns.  Sure, if this slash splatters we can talk about the likes of New Mexico and Kentucky, but I'm thinking about contiguity right now.

A fissure in the map.  A slice of America.  A sliced up America.  A river of wild and wheat, and high hills.  Some places tote one or more big league teams.  One day Oklahoma will get their big want - football.  And the NBA can bounce around KC and St. Louis once again.  And with Omaha again.

Is there a travelling team to hoist a flag for these people who have to stretch out for their embrace of the big time?
Is there an Omaha-Dakota Diesel on ice?
Could there be a Wild West Drive?  Could the last leg of that squadron's home be Portland?
A West Coast brand could take on time in San Diego and Seattle on the hardwood, with some preseason action in AK or HI.  Use your imagination to get your town in on it, even if it's the minors.

A river of representationlessness runs through it.

The Triple-A G-League Affiliation

I have more bush league hardwood smack to talk.  In a perhaps faraway time, when hoops has as robust a minor league professional system as does baseball, there may be more of a AAA, AA, and A ball amount of farm teams in the G-League.

And here would be my idea for it.  The Trip-A teams (cool way to say Triple),....call it the Three Point league in the tiered farm system, would take on the parent club nickname.

The questions of where would be best is questionable.  Should the club locate regionally or reach-out?

I would like some Cincinnati Celtics.  But I'd take some Cinci Pacers or Cavs.  Hell, I like Bucks.

There'd be somewhat of a rebirth of the San Diego Clippers.  Or in the meantime the Louisville ones.  Seattle Trailblazers or Boise Blazers?  Albuquerque Mavericks.  Baltimore Wizards.  Fill in the blanks.

Looks like more of a future Double-A map to me.

Cincinnati Cavaliers or Canton Charge ?

If you want more Cinci people keeping up with the NBA, I'd say it should be the Cincinnati Cavaliers.  My geographic thoughts on  Canton or Cinci pulls between geographic loyalty and expanding the draw.  My bias as a Cincinnati kid would argue market size in the argument.  Logistically, travel-wise, Canton is closer for a call up player.

Since I'm an ol' Reggie Miller fan, I'd take Cincinnati Pacers.  I may be inclined to watch more Indiana Pacers games that way.  If I'm King, for a G-league affiliation, I wouldn't mind Clippers, but I'd love Celtics.

2018 ProSportsExpansion Blog Year in Review

Atlanta United, the MLS team in its second year of existence, won the Cup.
Las Vegas in the highest of hockey, in its first year of existence, came in second.  Best expansion team in American top sports.
simply sexing up the blog
FC Cincinnati landed the MLS expansion bid, before that Nashville, essentially two horses coming out of nowhere.
Sports Gambling is getting bigger and bigger.  And more acceptable with MLB.
Seattle will have hockey again after nearly a hundred years without the NHL, as some people think the league is snubbing Canada and Quebec City.

Columbus will keep the Crew AND Austin will get an expansion bid instead.  Vegas was a first.  Austin's time is coming.

MiLB continues its neat name branding.
G-League is inching closer to a team per NBA franchise, as the North American Premier Basketball League opens up separately.
I was in wonderland, catupulting way into the future for MLB/MiLB expansion:

What accomplishments for newbies or movers did I miss?

Basketball and Football Minor Leagues are BIG

I'm basically referring to NCAA.

Though I sing praises for the NBA Developmental League (G-League now) and its future.
The NFL needs to follow suit, and perhaps we need to drop the first year requirement for illiterate kids to attend higher learning just in order to showcase their skills on television.  And television money.

But NCAA baseball, MiLB baseball, minor league hockey as well as NCAA hockey are not that big.  Well, I mean, March Madness and football on Saturday is hard to compete with.  And pro baseball in general makes good money, though not too many television bucks.  And well, baseball might not have room for more than just one big time darling in the form of MLB.  Ditto for hockey.  Check out some of the below posts.

Let's say 32 Minor League Teams for NFL

The Colorado Eagles will finish up their stint as an ECHL team, with promotion to the AHL.

G-League. Used to be the D-League. New sponsor and names

Gatorade league is no longer the D-League for the NBA.  First thing's first, obey your thirst.  Not Sprizite for the developmental level.
The league has truly become a team-for-team minor league farm to draw for talent.

Wikipedia:
By 2015, the last multiple-affiliate team, the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, was purchased by the Indiana Pacers leading to the first season where all D-League teams were affiliated with only one NBA team. As there were no longer any unaffiliated D-League teams left, the remaining NBA teams began purchasing expansion franchises or hybrid partnership teams and placing them near the parent team. In 2015, the Toronto Raptors placed their own team, Raptors 905, in the Greater Toronto Area in Mississauga, Ontario.[13][14] In 2016, the D-League expanded by three more NBA parent club-owned teams for the largest D-League expansion since 2007. The Charlotte Hornets created the Greensboro Swarm, the Brooklyn Nets created the Long Island Nets, and the Chicago Bulls created the Windy City Bulls.

NBA D-League becoming G-League for Gatorade. ______WIRED

We're under arrest

And depicted I have not the heart to post pics to convey anything,...from Gatorade, to the Philadelphia Stub Hub Sixers, to my FC Cincinnati (which can extremely easily be mistaken for FC Toyota).  Even if the entrepreneurial sensibility and spirit of America is involved.

The G spot

But just like stadium naming rights, it's good business.  And maybe ? as of yet it hasn't heavily infringed on aesthetics of NASCAR and beyond.

Shuffling the Franchises for MLB, NFL, NHL and NBA (......Okay, no Campy Talk, so ONE SPOT)

For those not familiar with my posts, "no campy talk" means that I won't talk about sharing a regional team, for instance the West Coast Athletics playing home(camp) games in Oakland, Portland and Las Vegas (and some Honolulu and Anchorage).

And throughout my blog murmurings my targets for relocation of big league franchises are known:
Tampa Bay baseball
Jacksonville football
St. Louis football
Oakland baseball and football.

Los Angeles, you know you're going to be on the receiving end of some football.  But I might take your Clippers and Anaheim Angels

All these cities....well hell, I'm really for co-locating them there for a share, still.  But for this sake, just relocation to one place.
Gosh darnit, you don't know how hard it is for me not to mention how Tampa and Monterrey, Mexico should share the Gulf Port, Gulf Coast or Gulf Run Rays.

But anyway:
The Los Angeles Raiders are really going to be called the California Raiders
Portland Rams.  Or should it be called the Oregon Rams?
The Louisville Jaguars are going to be called something else.

Oakland hate me.  Portland love me.  The Portland A's.
Miami houses the Florida Marlins again.
Charlotte or Mexico?  Mexico or Charlotte.  Sorry Charlotte.  The Monterrey Rays.  Atmosphere and flavor.  Some sandlot ball.  Fired up passion.
The California Angels have a new home up in Sacramento.  Can't they split time with northern California???  Can't they?

As much as I want the Ohio River and Cincinnati to float the Cincinnati Clippers, I'm going to part with heart and go for the Seattle Clippers.
Since in the blog world I can dictate....:
I hereby order the New Orleans Jazz and keep the ridiculousness of even Pelicans (moniker and existence) in Salt Lake City.  Might as well be unicorns or Kenny G' Zuesses.
Not your average Supersonics

Or

1978-84

All I really have for Hockeytown is the Western Coyotes playing in Portland or Seattle.  I got the NBA in Seattle and brought the big two to Portland.  Guess the big 5 belongs in Seattle a little more.  Sorry trailsonics.

Hmmmm.  What else?

Utah Jazz or Pelicans?

See more expansion and relocation talk for football, baseball, basketball, hockey and soccer on my blog (starting in Feb 2014, see table of contents/archive):  Major League/Pro Expansion <CLICK> http://prosportsexpansion.blogspot.com/  The first post lays out some of the concept.
And please feel free to contribute your two cents with mine.
