2017 ProSportsExpansion Blog Year in Review

Two pretty portraits painted this year.  Towns with no major league teams in my youth now have more than one, and two pretty portraits being painted into reality this year.

Las Vegas.  You have arrived for a happy recap for the second year in a row.  Good time to surely be a Vegasy Vegaser Vegasite.  Or a resident awaiting to visit your home team around your new town, or during 'vacay staycay.

And speaking for former California former-future-future-former teams, LA robbed the Chargers.

On a blog poll of mine, the thought hadn't even occurred, neither was the buzz that much existent for Nashville landing soccer,.... and so it wasn't even included that poll.  2020 and 2022 for Major League Soccer

Map of Major League Looks for MLS

And the Big Five places like Minnesota.
Capital of the South, monopoly of the South, Atlanta, have been without their Thrashers for awhile now.  If they'd only take the Panthers or Hurricanes and listen to my Southlakes Fishermen calls for brand turf expansion in claim.

Places like Cincinnati and Nashville, that long ago not even on the expansion lists, blasted or bumped the likes of Detroit and St. Louis to the back of lists.

I think the MLB Commish' tilted to Montreal and Mexico: The Biggest Calls for New Big League Teams when it comes to baseball.

Still holding my breath for the last holdout since Las Vegas was landed (and doubled up):  LOUISVILLE.  T'will be basketball.  Might come sooner than later since it looks like the NHL and Sonics will be beckoned and resurrected to new digs in Seattle.

New Year, new you.
And yet still:  what about Quebec City?  Canadian dollar need to get stronger ?

Will the Crew leave Ohio for Austin??  Now that Nashville got a team and Sacramento Republic has showed financial worry, does FC Cinci got a shot after nailing pro teams like Chicago?

What will the likes of Major League Soccer say for 2018 ?
